This Idol will be worse for Pussy Cats then the lvl 245 Idol of Mutilation. The time it takes to stack up to 5 times is long (5 consecutive Rake ticks = 15+ seconds). Also many fights require movement and most likely for more than 15 seconds. As such, the effect is guaranteed to fall off at certain times.

It is, however, better than Mutilation for Bear tanks.

I am amazed as to why would they design this Idol to stack only on Rake ticks (for cats), when the Moonkin Idol stacks from two abilities (since those two dots are standard part of Laz0rChicken rotation, the +44 crit will stack twice as fast, like 7-8 seconds). Also I am looking at the Tree Idol. If it stacks of ANY Rejuv tick on ANY target, it means that a Tree can get the full effect from this Idol in as little as 8-9 seconds. And also if it works out of combat, the Tree can get all his 8 stacks and then quickly drink before the battle begins. The remaining Rejuvs on the raid members and those placed on tank(s) before the pull will be enough to keep it rolling.

So in my opinion the feral version of this Idol is the weakest of all in terms of stacking speed and downtime.

For cat: It's preaty early to say for sure, but this looks worse than https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=47668 . That one gives 200 Agility, and usualy its up from the 1st mangle or shread, and stays up almost all the time, like for 90%95% ish, I say.

You need at least 40 sec to stacks this to full (rake has 9 sec ) and u dont want to clip it. And with 2 tier 9s - and I think a lot of cats will be using that at least for a few weeks after 3.3 hits, u have 12 sec rakes, and even if u dont loose any time and u apply the next second, u need 52 sec to 5 stack.

Its only on the PTR yet, so I hope they will change it, I think something around 75 agy x5 would be better for that ilevel. Or something like 100 agy and stacking 3 times or something...

Sidenote 1: I dont play bear, but i think the mutilation one is better for bear, too. 200 dodge rating (3.20% dodge) or 220 Agy (around the same dodge but +2.70% crit). But its up froom first lacerate.
Sidenote 2: I dont like this new ideea from blizzard with stacking stats, like that one use trinket with haste from TOC 10, u stack it in 15-18 seconds, and its falls after 20, ffs...

Imo this idol is only good for tanking bosses or 1-2 mobs together which is quaranteed that u ll be using lacerate
Somehow i dont think i ll be trying to use lacerate when tanking 5-6 trash mobs and u ll need to spam swipe
Usually waste 1 global cd for lacerate instead of swipe and mobs start running to rest of the party

I've tested this out a bit as a bear, and ended up refunding it on the vendor.
It only stacks up when lacerate ticks, 3 seconds after being applied. Since I build up lacerate to 5 stacks at the start of the fight (only interrupted by mangle when it comes of CD), it takes almost 15 secs before lacerate starts ticking, and another 10-15 seconds before the idol is at full stack. If lacerate drops of the mobs, you need to reapply it with 4+ seconds left on stack, or it will fade before tick.

For 5man heroic trash, they are usually dead before lacerate can tick any at all.

In short, it takes too long to build up, and is too hard to keep up to be worth it. Now, if it stacked on applying lacerate, that would be something else.

Damage sims say id loose 20dps replacing my Idol of mutilation with this. WOTLK bis lists say this is more of a side grade only superior on some fights
