I wonder (for tanking) if this idol is worth taking 3/3 improved mangle? Does it behave like Idol of Terror?

Just tried it. Really high proc rate. At least so high that it gives you on cat an easy 100% uptime doing mangle. Of course we don't mangle as cat, but I am sure speccing 3/3 imp mangle now for Bear

Clicking at the effect of the idol is can see a 100% chance proc. Is there any internal cooldown or it's just plain constant +153 agility for tanking bear?

Just got this the other night from Vezax-25. Haven't had enough time to do any extensive testing on this but despite the proc description, its not a 100% proc. I would say its close to 80% much like the Idol of Terror (proc). Now, with that in mind and the fact that this buff lasts 12 seconds instead of 10 it seemingly has a 100% uptime.

Not only is the proc rate extremely high, but there is also no ICD and it can refresh itself. In about 15 minutes of testing I got the buff on every opening Mangle, and it always refreshed on subsequent Mangles - the buff does not have to drop off to get reapplied.

Basically this is a +153 AGI idol for any bear tank who uses Mangle at least once every 12 seconds... i.e. all bear tanks!

A massive upgrade from our level 70 idol. /mourn the passing of Idol of Terror

This should have been made available with badges instead of cramming it deep into ulduar 25. Regardless, it's a huge upgrade from that idol we have been forced to use while everyone else gets upgrades quite easily.

@ Anyone who has this idol: some testing of proc chance would be greatly appreciated. There's some reports that it has a very different proc chance in bearform and catform. Long sessions on a practice dummy in bearform (mangling every CD) and catform (just keeping up the debuff) would be ideal -- using some kind of tool like procwatch or wws of course.

If it's truly a 100% procrate in catform, and refreshes every proc, then it'd be a serious contender against other catform idols when you're the only source of the Mangle/Trauma debuff. Yes, ArPen self-scaling. Yes, Rip dot-crits. But Agility is a great stat now, and there is some amount of it that would be better for DPS than all other Idol effects available today. 153 could be above that amount.

It'll all come out in the calculators once there's a firm understanding of the rules the item follows.

Confirmed, this idol is intended to have an 85% proc chance. While your actual 'luck' with it may vary, that is its intended chance to proc. Through thorough testing I have also been able to confirm without a doubt that it has NO internal cooldown and WILL refresh or overwrite itself without the buff (called "Primal Wrath") having to first fall off.

When it procs it gives me 2.46% chance to dodge, 1.98% crit, and 330 armor (0.25% damage reduction)

So taking into account the fact that it has no cooldown, can refresh itself, and lasts for 12 seconds ... it provides these three benefits almost 100% of the fight to a bear who uses Mangle every 4.5 seconds.

I am a firm believer in Idol of Worship for cat dps and consistently pull 6-7k when i'm not being asked to tank. However, I plan to use Idol of the Corruptor next week on XT and Vezax because they are the most controlled fights to test dps on. (Though they are also two of the only fights I don't have to tank.) If it does in fact match up to or surpass Worship, I may change my position.

Actually using the test dummies, and a macro that uses kitty mangle and then cancels the primal wrath aura if up, after 1000 mangles i had 1000 procs. so i would have to definitively say this IS a 100% proc rate. at least for cats, the cooldown on bear makes bear testing a pain.

Edit: ok did a little testing for bear and its definitly not 100% proc rate with the bear mangle, while it is with the cat. seems to be somewhere around 50% with bear mangle, after 100 bear mangles (couldnt stick it out any longer) i got 50 procs.

Its so frustrating that Blizzard decided to have this Idol drop so late in Ulduar 25, knowing that druids have no other mitigation upgrades from the Idol of Terror.

This item is purchaseable for 19 embems of conquest on the 3.2 PTR along with all the other idols/librams/sigils/totems. This follows the same trend whereby all the 25 naxx idols were made available for valor badges in 3.1. Rejoice my bear friends. :)

I was excited that this could be purchased with emblems, but disappointed when I saw how much dps I lost when replacing my Idol of Perspicacious Attacks with this. I lost about 300 dps. The agility is great for avoidance when that's important, but there are plenty of times where 300 dps will be better than +153 agility. See my comment on the other idol's page for some of the math.

It DOES stack with mongoose proc, the idol gives you 2.46% chance to dodge, 1.98% crit, and 330 armor, along with mongoose giving you, 2.11% dodge, 1.52% Crit and 254 Armor in bear, for a total of 4.57% dodge, 3.50% crit, and 584 armor. with them both its insane avoidance for a feral tank, i use it and love it.

Comparing this to it's Triumph equivelant, Idol of Mutilation, this is probably the best pre-raid choice for bear tanks. While the other one offers a pure 200 dodge rating, which seems flashy, that only translates to a bit more (less than 2%) dodge rating than this one. In comparison, unless you really really want that extra dodge amount, there isn't really a reason a bear tank should choose Mutilation over Corruptor, despite it's higher "rank".

Edit Some people seem to think the proc on this idol is 100% for both roles. As far as I know, the proc rate for cats is 100% as Wowhead says. However, testing on a training dummy shows that it is certainly not 100% for bears. I'd say it's more in the 50-70% range. But, considering the cooldown is 6 seconds on Mangle (4.5 w/ Improved Mangle), you can get two more Mangles in before the buff expires, which means any downtime you do have between procs will be short.
