Crafting the salve is only good for 3 charges so you would need to make 4 of them if you want to do it that way.

As a Ret Pally, casting Divine Protection and Shield of Vengeance was able to protect me each time with about 10-20% health remaining after each channel.

This is very easy to solo as a Warrior. Go Prot and hit a dummy to stack Ignore Pain up and press Shield Wall + Spell Reflect before you use the item. It will at most do half of your health per use.

This was easy as DK + healer. I could always use either Icebound Fortitude, AMS or AMZ before clicking the item. AMS basically made me immune to damage for couple of seconds, AMZ and IbF reduced the damage quite nicely. A priest healer had no issue keeping me alive with simple spells.

The absolute fastest way to do this solo as a Paladin is speccing into Protection and talenting Blessing of Spellwarding.

It has a 5 min Cooldown tho? Dont worry. Go to Boralus / Dazar'Alor and enter the first LFR-wing of Eternal Palace "The Grand Reception" (or literally any other raid with an easily reset-able boss).

The NPC for LFR-queuing is called Kiku for Alliance and can be found in the Inn. For Horde its called Eppu and can be found in the Great Seal in the Hall of Chroniclers.

Walk up to the first boss. Press Blessing of Spellwarding, then press the item. You will take no damage as long as BoS is running which means you will get 0-2 ticks of the items damage depending on your timing. Then, reset Abyssal Commander Sivara (or the boss you are using).

Rinse repeat until the quest is maxed out. I finished it in roughly 10 minutes being slow and taking my time.

As a Prot Pally, what worked for me was changing my talents to take Golden path and Seal of Mercy on the Class side, and Uther's Counsel on the Spec side.

Then I used Blessing of Spellwarding then activating Erden's Symbiotic Glowspore Grip.

Afterwards I used Guardian of Ancient Kings with the Grip.

Next, I used Eye of Tyr and Ardent Defender together with the Grip.

I would heal myself to full while I waited for the cooldowns to reset.

This method took me 11 minutes to complete the quest.

Okay so best way to do this as a paladin is to use the quest item then bubble in front of a reset-able boss repeat 10 times done

As a Paladin you can use Divine Protection combined with Shield of Vengeance as Ret or one out of Guardian of Ancient Kings, Sentinel, Blessing of Spellwarding, Ardent Defender as Prot. Prophetic Stonescales works too. Don't forget to use Devotion Aura.

Easy to do as a Warrior.

1.) Spec Protection, and talent into Fueled by Violence (and Second Wind and leech to speed up recovery)
2.) Go to the AoE dummies, pool rage, hit them all with Thunder Clap to apply Deep Wounds, and double Ignore Pain before activating. I'm unsure if Spell Reflection and Defensive Stance add mitigation.
3.) You'll easily survive, and full heal before the item cooldown is even up.
4.) Rinse and repeat.

Another way to do this, no abilities required:
1. Enter the Proving Grounds from your Garrison by talking to your mission table NPC.
2. Begin any of the trials by talking to the Trial Master. Stay next to him.
3. Activate the item to begin the channel.
4. After a few ticks, talk to the NPC to end the trial. This will stun you and make you immune while the debuff ticks, then restores you to full health when it ends.
6. Rinse and repeat until complete. Beginning the trial will also reset the item CD.

The easiest way is join the BG and before start use item. U cant die. So after 2-3BG done.

since you're likely going to the proving grounds anyway (for the Enchanting part of the quest) you easily complete it there. in about 1 minute!
Just enter the proving grounds, start a random challange -> press the item -> yield. You hp gets locked uppon yielding, leaving only about 2 ticks at the end that won't kill you. You can now restart the callange and the item's cooldown will be reset!

I solved this by doing the following:

Queue solo as a tank for the new "Follower Dungeon." I chose the Ruby Life Pool, but the specific one doesn't matter.
Use the item and let the follower healer heal you up.
Wait until the item is off CD and repeat steps 2 and 3 until you're done.

I don't see this here, so adding a post for all of you. As of this writing, as a paladin, pre-bubbling didn't work, and selfhealing with any pally spell interrupted quest item action resulting in failure and no progress. Seems they REALLY want you to actually talk to people and hire a pocket healer, or repeatedly die - and definitely spend gold on the components for that expensive salve.

So of course, you can completely cheese it in another way: just queue for a for a Follower Dungeon, making sure to set yourself as leader / turn off the AI party leading. The bonus is you can do that right at the questgiver in the middle of Ohn'aran plains.

I did that and picked Nokhud Offensive (which allows mounting, and has a mailbox close to entrance).

I got a Human Paladin Tank and a Tauren Druid healer.

As soon as I channeled the quest item, BOTH of these AI NPCs healed me like crazy! 10 uses of the item, and I completed the quest, without even bothering with the salve and without dying once. Leave the instance, and if you queued at the questgiver, just turn the quest in.

What worked for me is to get my Stamina down to ~350k (for me it was equiping a speed set) and use Fyrakk's Tainted Rageheart for 900k absorbs.

As a paladin I was able to tank all the damage very consistantly with a combination of Shield of Vengeance and Undulating Sporecloak.

Divine Protection while not necessary did help (pre-cast as it cannot be used while stunned by the effect).
Consecration with Golden Path also helps mitigate the initial damage.

Easily soloable as warrior.

Option 1 is getting naked and using Fyrakk's Tainted Rageheart

Option 2 also starts with nakedness, but uses a combination of Shield Wall and Spell Reflection. Talenting into Defender's Aegis gives you more walls while doing it

If you combine the 2, you can get it done in 6 minutes completely alone

For paladins:

Spec into Protection
Take Gift of the Golden Val'kyr on the spec tree
Opt into Warmode
Take Guardian of the Forgotten Queen as one of the PvP talents

Works pretty well for me, and 45 second CD is quite short compared to other big cooldowns.

As paladin (ret spec):
1. hop into a follower dungeon as dps
2. Use divine protection and Erden's Symbiotic Glowspore Grip. The shield with the AI healer will keep you alive.

Repeat ten time. With the shield being a 1 min cd, it will take 10 min.

The follower dungeons worked a charm for me (ilvl 478 UH DK), went in and used the glowspore grip item and the tank kept me alive with plenty health to spare. Didn't even have to use defensives beforehand. I didn't bother with the optional salve either.

If you are a Warrior and have access to the Tier 3 Garrison from Warlords of Draenor, you can easily cheese this quest.

1. Change to Protection.
2. Specialize into the Fueled by Violence talent. (Protection Talent Tree: 5th row down and on the far right. Should be a talent choice node. Left option (looks like a bloody dagger)).
3. Go to the Training Dummies in your Garrison. They are level 42, which means you do absolutely obscene amounts of damage to them. Was doing over 600k per tick in my gear.
4. Apply Deep Wounds and then use the item. You will massively out heal the damage that is done to you, even if it does the maximum of 25% of your HP every tick for the full 10 seconds of the cast.
5. All you have to do is wait for the cooldown of the item. There's no extra steps beyond just keeping Deep Wounds applied to the dummy.

Note 1: Deep Wounds is applied either through Devastate and Revenge. If you don't want to press more buttons, just spec into Devastator and auto attack. (Protection Talent Tree: 3rd row down, center talent.)
Note 2: Deep Wounds requires a 1H and Shield to be equipped. Crafted BOEs will work just fine and not cost much at all. (I spent 50g in total for this method.)

This was done on a Fury Warrior geared through Open World and LFR content.

Description

You will have to trust me. We need to activate the reagents embedded in the grip. Wrapping the grip around Fyr'alath's haft should work, as long as you can survive the onslaught that follows. You're going to need to make adjustments as you go, and you won't get it the first time. The spores need to adapt to the axe.
